Dimenticare Venezia, when Ingmar Bergman met gay Italians

Oscar Nominee, Franco Brusati's  (Bread and Chocolate) Dimenticare Venezia is a powerful drama about a strange family reunited in a villa near Venice, the city they want to visit but never is seen on film.
A Swedish actor (Erland Josephson), flashbacks and memories like in Wild Straberries, the golden colors of the cinematography, all recall to Ingmar Bergman. But with a big difference, sexual orientation.
This film was banned to minor of 18 years old (as we can see on the Italian film poster), now, Berlusconi's company Medusa has released the film on DVD and changed the Age, it's banned to minor of 14 years old: may be it's too queer for Italian homophobics, I don't know. May be it's what Putin will call "gay propaganda".

Mariangela Melato offers the only nude scene of her I know.

Mariangela Melato is a lesbian, she is love with the pretty and blonde Eleonora Giorgi

Male nudity in the Oscars finale ! It was 1979, imagine now.

Yes, we've got a male gay couple. Two gay couples in a film !

Even the young gay tries something with the lesbian

But remember, it's a very Bergman picture, it's not John Waters.

Older gay man memories: a trip to his childhood, we know his best friend (red hair), his first love.  They talk about masturbation, nudity in art (there were no porn in the past), even he smells his friend's costume. Too much queer for Italians.

The hate to the parents, a lesbian flashback

Mariangela Melato's mother is also played by her in other flashback

In a restaurant, in a forest, we discover the old friend, a father now.
